Angel Hotel

Set in centre of the historic market town of Abergavenny, The Angel is a 4 silver star hotel and is the perfect base for exploring the Brecon Beacons. The Angel is conveniently located for the capital city of Cardiff, Hereford and Bristol.
 
This former coaching inn with a smart Georgian facade has 34 guest rooms, most of which are located in the main hotel and are accessible by lift. Guests may also stay in the Mews or one of the hotel’s four cottages, including ‘The Lodge’, which is located within the grounds of Abergavenny Castle.
 
All rooms feature pocket-sprung beds, flatscreen TV, tea- and coffee-making facilities and bathroom amenities from Aromatherapy Associates.
 
Afternoon tea at The Angel is something very special indeed, having held an Award of Excellence from The Tea Guild since 2008. Each morning the hotels specialist bakers prepare the savouries, sandwiches, cakes and scones that are presented on tiered stands. An extensive selection of over twenty loose leaf teas and infusions is offered. Afternoon Tea is served daily; 2.00pm – 4.00pm on weekdays, 1.00pm – 5.30pm on weekends.
 
The Oak Room is adorned with contemporary artwork & offers rich, warm surroundings for a refined dining experience. It seats around 60 guests and is open every day for lunch and dinner. The Foxhunter Bar is set on two levels, with an eclectic mix of leather sofas, vintage settles and wooden tables, and it is the premier bar for both visitors and locals. It features real ales, interesting wines and classic cocktails. Food is served all day in the Foxhunter Bar.
 
During warmer weather the secluded Courtyard becomes a favourite spot with diners. Open all day and candlelit in the evening, it is located in the centre of the hotel and fringed with plants.
 
The hotel’s sister property – The Walnut Tree is a Michelin-starred restaurant with Shaun Hill at the helm.  Guests booking a Superior or Deluxe room at The Angel can take advantage of a complimentary taxi service to/from The Walnut Tree for lunch or dinner.
 
The hotel has it’s own bakery ‘The Angel Bakery‘ which is open Tuesday – Saturday and also has sister properties in ‘The Art Shop & Chapel’, located in the town centre.
