The Old Railway Line Garden Centre is an award winning, family run, independent Garden Centre, Farm Shop and Restaurant combined, offering the very best gardening, home and outdoor living products alongside delicious, fresh, locally produced food and drink.
The garden centre is situated in the heart of the picturesque Wye Valley, nestling at the foot of the Black Mountains with outstanding views of the Brecon Beacons and surrounding Radnorshire Hills.
Plants and gardening is the core of The Old Railway Line Garden Centre. We have a large plants area home to a vast array of plants suitable for any garden.
‘Platform 1’ houses all of the Garden Care products needed to create and maintain your perfect garden. Our helpful staff have all the knowledge needed to guide you in the right direction!
Our Farm Shop is packed with amazing food and drink including fresh produce, sweet treats, beverages, preserves and more! Featuring quality produce from over 60 Welsh and local suppliers, we are a one stop shop for all of your everyday needs as well as special treats.
With daily deliveries of fruit and veg along with freshly baked bread, locally sourced meat and delicious Welsh cheeses, our Farm Shop showcases the best our area has to offer. Our beverage department is also full of favourite tipples including craft beers, unique spirits, wines and soft drinks.
Our Railway Restaurant offers delicious, freshly prepared meals 7 days of the week. Our friendly team are on hand to ensure your visit is an enjoyable one.
Serving delicious home cooked food to order including breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and our renowned Railway Roast every Thursday and Sunday.
We also offer a large range of sandwiches, panini’s, desserts and tempting homemade cakes and pastries. Gluten free, vegetarian and children’s options are also on offer within our main menu and weekly specials menu.

The Garden Centre Association carry out a yearly inspection of all member garden centres to ensure that standards are met and the garden centre is of a high enough standard to be a member.
We are delighted to have won ‘Best Garden Centre’ in the UK in 2018 & 2021 as well as ‘Best Garden Centre’ in Wales and the West for 9 consecutive years, alongside an array of other awards from the GCA and other prestigious award ceremonies. We are proud to have been crowned ‘Centre of Excellence’ by the Garden Centre Association again this year. The Garden Centre Association, representing over 200 garden centres across the nation, determines the annual awards based on the outcomes of unannounced inspections conducted at all GCA-affiliated garden centres. These inspections are carried out without prior notice.
