Food & drink from our farmers' markets, farm shops, bakeries & delis
Bannau Brycheiniog National Park is a real treasure trove of fine produce. Tasty treats like our local whisky, cheese and chocolates make lovely gifts, and putting together a picnic from fresh goodies is a breeze.
It's well worth shopping local when you're in Bannau Brycheiniog. We're known for our outstanding mountain lamb (look out for Brecknockshire Cheviots, the local breed), beef, venison and smoked products of all kinds. We have yummy local cheeses like Y Fenni (Welsh for Abergavenny), St Illtyd (who spent a lot of time round here) and Pwll Mawr cheddar (which is matured in a coal mine). You're also bound to love our apple juice, cider, whisky, mineral water and scrumptious ice cream.

Farmers' markets and country markets
Our regular farmers' markets and food fairs bring our best local farmers, growers and artisan producers and together under one roof. They're friendly occasions. You can meet the makers, sample their wares and stuff your shopping bag with goodies such as cheese, honey, sausages, herbs, chutney and laverbread. What could be better?
